Quality over quantity is a commonly heard phrase, which few companies live by. It’s important for us to offer the highest quality products we can make. Each product is made with attention and intention, and is something we all use at Modern Herbal.
Our products are free from preservatives and shelf stabilizers, therefore, some products must be stored in the refrigerator and have a shelf life of a few months to a year. Modern Herbal brewed colloidal silver is added to certain products to the extend shelf life.
SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
As a member of the United Plant Savers organization, Modern Herbal carefully considers what plants and raw ingredients to use when creating provisions. Most ingredients are purchased at Mountain Rose Herbs, Pacific Botanicals, or Starwest Botanicals. When in season, herbs are also sourced through local organic farmers such as Abenaki Springs Farm of Walpole, NH, or grown in our own medicinal garden. Wild foraged plants are carefully selected and harvested, being sure to create little disturbance to the other life around. Most wild foraged plants are harvested from Southern Vermont & New Hampshire.
Honey used in items like the Fire Cider & Elderberry Syrup is New England based.

With our Earth in such a fragile state, it is important to practice mindful harvesting, foraging and purchasing.
